Renovation and restoration of the White Pillars in Biloxi, Mississippi began in earnest in May of 2012. Over the next twelve months an amazing transformation took place.
On October 29, COMVEST hosted a reception for retailers from across the Southeast. Held in Atlanta’s beautiful Galleria Gardens, the event featured The Macallan as well as a selection of Perdomo cigars and classic Southern hors d’oeuvres. Randy Adams, Brand Ambassador for The Macallan, led guests in tasting a variety of The Macallan and Highland Park expressions. A highlight of the evening was the opportunity to sample Thor, the first in Highland Park’s Valhalla Collection.
Scott Rheams elected to leave COMVEST Properties to pursue other career opportunities effective September 23rd. Scott worked over five years on various retail development projects for COMVEST throughout the southeast including Walgreens Pharmacies in Carencro and Minden, Louisiana and Academy Sports + Outdoors in Warner Robins, Georgia. Scott was also instrumental in the development of Kay Jewelers’ first free standing location, also in Warner Robins, GA. He is known and respected for his attention to detail. Adam Mitchell has been promoted to the position of Development Manager and will coordinate and oversee COMVEST’s development and construction activities. Adam joined COMVEST in early 2013 as Retail Development Coordinator and has been deeply involved with all of the projects in the company’s pipeline since day one. Adam has a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from Clemson University and recently earned his Mississippi Real Estate Sales Person License. His background in civil engineering and construction make him a perfect fit for the demands of COMVEST’s many projects in various stages of development.
This time of transition will be an opportunity to renew and reinforce the productive relationships already established between COMVEST, our lenders, our tenants, and our vendors.

Biloxi, Mississippi – Firehouse Subs will make its Mississippi Gulf Coast debut at the corner of Pass and Beauvoir Roads, in Biloxi. Work on the second redevelopment phase of Shoppes at Beauvoir, a former Blockbuster building, is moving forward with the construction of an outdoor dining area and façade work. The 1,975 square foot fast casual restaurant joins The UPS Store which opened last December.
Firehouse Subs was founded in 1994 by a pair of former firefighting brothers in Jacksonville, FL. Today there are more than 600 locations across 35 states and Puerto Rico. Mississippi locations include Southaven, Oxford, Starkville, Flowood and Hattiesburg. The restaurant is known for its steamed meats and cheeses, private recipe sub rolls and its Firehouse Original Cherry Lime-Aid.
Construction is expected to be finished in early September when the space will be turned over to Firehouse Subs for interior completion. Grand Opening information will be announced at a later date.
Shoppes at Beauvoir developers are currently in negotiations with a tenant prospect to lease the remaining 2,800 square feet of space.
